Choice partners with Tesla to expand EV charging at US hotels

[ad_1]

Choice Hotels International has partnered with Tesla to provide Tesla universal wall connectors at participating Choice-branded hotels including Radisson, Cambria, Comfort, Country Inn & Suites and Quality Inn across the US.

The collaboration aims to address the increasing demand for electric vehicle (EV) charging, offering guests convenient access to charging stations during their stays.

Enhancing guest experience and meeting demand

Choice-branded properties can now install four or more charging stations, alleviating a significant challenge for EV drivers travelling for business or leisure.

By utilising the EV charging filter on ChoiceHotels.com and the Choice Hotels mobile app, travellers will be able to locate hotels with charging stations, ensuring a seamless experience.

Business opportunities and expansion plans

Dominic Dragisich, executive vice-president of operations and chief global brand officer for Choice Hotels International, highlighted the strategic significance of this collaboration:

“This agreement with Tesla allows our brands to further stand out by increasing access to EV charging for guests and potentially drive incremental topline revenue for hotel owners.

41% of Choice’s Cambria hotels currently offer EV charging, with plans to fit all properties with at least one station by the end of 2024. Recognising EV charging as a top sustainability priority for guests, Choice is committed to enhancing its offerings to cater to evolving consumer preferences.

Choice’s commitment to sustainability also extends to its corporate offices, with locations including North Bethesda, Maryland and Scottsdale, Arizona, already equipped with stations.

Streamlined booking experience and rewards programme benefits

Cardholders of Choice’s co-brand credit cards will receive accelerated rewards when using EV charging stations at Choice-branded hotels. Choice Privileges Select Mastercard cardholders will earn the highest number of points on qualifying purchases at EV charging stations, while Choice Privileges Mastercard cardholders also benefit, enhancing the overall guest experience and loyalty programme value.
