Electrify America debuts first indoor flagship station

Located in San Francisco, the site is equipped with 20 fast chargers and lounge areas with amenities to provide a comfortable space for drivers while they charge their vehicles.

Electrify America announced the opening of its first indoor flagship station available to the public in San Francisco.

The site provides access for electric vehicle (EV) drivers with 20 hyper-fast chargers providing up to 350 kilowatts (kW) in charging power. While waiting, customers can make use of the dedicated lounge areas with food and beverage vending options, complimentary Wi-Fi and restrooms.

“Our expertise in building over 250 stations in California and more than 900 in North America uniquely positions us to bring high-quality charging infrastructure directly into communities where people live and work and support EV adoption across the state,” said Robert Barrosa, President and CEO of Electrify America.

In 2022, the company introduced “The Charging Station of the Future, Today” – a design concept to create comfortable spaces focused on enhancing the EV driver experience. The team leading the station design focused on bringing human-centered and unique community-centric design strategies to the charging experience.

Electrify America already has outdoor flagship charging stations in Baker and Santa Clara, California, that have ten or more chargers. The recently opened site is the first station in the company’s network to reflect its strategy to build larger stations to meet the growing demand of EV drivers.
