Electric Era Technologies has been awarded new grant funding from the Washington State Department of Commerce to establish three new PowerNode™ EV fast charging stations in rural and Tribal communities across Snohomish, Kitsap, and Yakima counties. This development aims to bolster the electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure without the need for extensive upgrades to the existing electrical grid, showcasing Electric Era’s innovative approach to sustainable transportation solutions.
Quincy Lee, the founder and CEO of Electric Era, expressed enthusiasm about expanding their EV charging network in Washington state. “We’re excited to grow our footprint of reliable EV fast chargers in our home state,” Lee stated. With a commitment to enhancing accessibility for EV drivers, Electric Era’s strategy involves a rapid deployment of their chargers, significantly reducing the installation time compared to traditional methods.

The initiative is backed by over $1 million in grants, facilitating the installation of Electric Era’s PowerNode stations, which are distinguished for their efficiency and reliability. Particularly noteworthy is their capability to offer a 100-mile charge in under ten minutes and serve over 100 vehicles daily. This initiative not only supports the adoption of electric vehicles but also addresses the charging needs in locations with limited grid capacity.
The new charging stations will be located at:
- A1 Gas in Snohomish County
- Gliding Eagle Market in Kitsap County
- Wolf Den in Yakima County
Johnathan Schab from Wolf Den highlighted the importance of providing accessible and cost-effective charging solutions to rural communities. “We’re proud of the rural community we serve here in Wapato,” Schab remarked, emphasizing the desire to support EV drivers without the burden of expensive electrical grid upgrades.
This project contributes to the broader Washington State Department of Commerce’s goal of installing 5,000 EV chargers across the state, focusing on areas adversely affected by fossil fuel pollution. Electric Era’s ongoing expansion, with more than ten sites currently active or in development across seven states, underscores its pivotal role in the transition towards a more sustainable and accessible EV infrastructure.
