Stellantis Is The Last Domino To Fall In Tesla’s American Charging Takeover

[ad_1]

Apart from Tesla’s vast Supercharging network, Stellantis EVs can access another US charging network called Ionna – the name finally given to a massive collaboration between seven automakers, including Stellantis, for a charging network that wants to rival Tesla’s Supercharger network within a few years.

BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, and Stellantis have vowed to challenge Tesla Supercharger’s claim as North America’s leading charging network by the end of the decade. To do this, Ionna will deploy 30,000 fast-charging stations in the US and Canada, equipped with both NACS and CCS plugs. That means even without the adapter, Stellantis EVs should be able to charge on these stations. With Stellantis – and any other automaker – transitioning to NACS, it’s a win-win for EV owners in America.
