Furthermore, the Michigan Infrastructure Office has recently announced a substantial investment of $23 million to bolster the state’s electric vehicle infrastructure. This funding is part of a larger initiative, supported by President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which will see Michigan receiving a total of $110 million over the next five years. The goal is to significantly increase the number of electric vehicle charging stations across 41 cities and towns, including Flint, Alma, and West Branch. This initiative, coupled with programs like PSE’s Up & Go Electric, which offers incentives for hosting public charging stations, marks a pivotal moment in the expansion of electric mobility access, especially in historically underrepresented communities.
